WHERE ARE WE GOING?

Program

First day

Upon arrival in Portoferraio, we can easily reach Marina di Campo by bus. The bus stop is just a few steps from the landing point, and the route takes us through the unique scenery of Elba Island. In the late afternoon, we will meet our guide at the hotel, who will explain the program and give us some interesting facts about the island. We will begin to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of Elba with dinner at a restaurant just a few steps from the hotel. After dinner, a relaxing walk along the Marina di Campo seafront will be the perfect opportunity to familiarize ourselves with the island and breathe in the fresh sea air.

Second day

Trekking through woods and coves
After breakfast, we will set off on foot and reach the starting point in Colle Palombaia, an exciting route from which to absorb all the energy of the sea. After walking through beautiful holm oak woods, we will reach the picturesque Capo Poro lighthouse, where we can enjoy a view of the immense Tyrrhenian Sea and some of the islandsof the Tuscan Archipelago. Descending towards the fairytale beach of Galenzana, we will find ourselves immersed in a magical atmosphere before returning to the hotel and getting ready for dinner.

Route info: duration 4 hours, elevation gain +220 meters, elevation loss -300 meters

Third day

From Marciana Marina to Sant'Andrea
We head to Marciana Marina, a picturesque fishing village, and from Fenicia beach we will follow an ancient road that connects the coastal villages, surrounded by holm oak woods and views of the crystal clear sea. Along the way, we will discover some of the most evocative places on the island, stopping at hidden beaches such as Ripa Barata, La Cala, and Cotoncello, where we can take a dip. Elba Island is also famous for its strategic position and numerous fortifications. On our return, dinner will await us at the restaurant in Marina di Campo.

Route info: duration 4 hours, elevation gain +350 m, elevation loss -350 m

Fourth day

Monte Capanne
We will venture along one of Elba's most evocative hiking trails through centuries-old chestnut groves and ancient abandoned goat pens. In this wild corner of Elba, where mouflons reign among the rocks, we will climb to the highest peak on the island, Monte Capanne, at 1019 meters, which will offer us a view of the entire island and the Tyrrhenian Sea. Along the way, we will also discover hidden corners and unforgettable views, and we can try the typical cable car on the way down. At the end of the day, we will return to the hotel and go out for dinner on our own.

Route info: duration 6 hours, elevation gain +550 m, elevation loss -550 m (those who wish can take the cable car and only descend from the summit).

Fifth day

The Capostella circuit
Today we will explore one of the most beautiful stretches of Elba Island, starting from Golfo Stella and arriving at Golfo di Lacona. This time it will not be possible to take the public bus, so if we cannot make it with private cars, we will rent a minibus (not included in the package). The trek winds along an easy path that runs along the coast overlooking the sea, crossing the typical Mediterranean garrigue. Once we reach Capostella, we will go around the promontory along the Gulf of Lacona. Fancy a swim? We will end the excursion at Lacona beach. Before returning to the hotel and having dinner at a restaurant, we will visit the village of Capoliveri.

Route info: duration 3 hours, elevation gain +190 m, elevation loss -190 m

Itinerary information
Medium/low difficulty level; mostly comfortable and easy trails, except for a few short, slightly steeper sections. The hike to Mount Capanne is a real mountain hike with steep and rocky climbs in places; however, you can also just do the ascent or descent by taking the chairlift, or you can even avoid it altogether by staying and enjoying the beautiful beach at Marina di Campo. On the two dates in high season, the heat can significantly increase the difficulty level of the hikes.
Notes
The vacation is suitable for vegetarians, vegans, and people with celiac disease.
Important
As with any active trip, the itinerary is subject to change—including the order of activities or stops—depending on weather conditions, road conditions, any temporary closures or restrictions at sites, locations, or areas to be visited, as well as the guide’s judgment, who will always act in the best interests of the group and the safety of the participants. The activity will take place even in case of bad weather, except in situations involving weather alerts or conditions that could compromise safety; we therefore recommend bringing appropriate gear for possible precipitation and temperature changes.
